All you need to do is just read LESSON 8 and tell me the procedure by which you can copy the main SAM file from c:\windows\system32\config folder.......

Is it by using any password cracking software like Pwdump?
This software will crack the password....but u have to tell how would you copy the sam file from c:\windows\system32\config folder.
when i try to copy the sam file i get
the prompt that it is in use by some other program then is it possible to close the program which is using this sam file if it is true then which program is using this sam file
SAM is a system file so u wnt be able to access it.
I have not tried it but i think it is possible to copy the sam file by booting the computer using windows98 bootable floppy disk and then copy the file to the desired location but apart from this is it possible to copy the sam file while windows is running if yes then plz let me known
u can copy the file stored in c:\windows\repair but not in the system32 folder when windows is running.
so only possible way to copy the sam file (which is stored in system32/config/) is when windows is not running

A password hash is an algorithm(MD5 is one example). When u enter a password for anything, say-Windows xp, it is not stored in plaintext format. First it is converted to hash and then stored in the system. A hash looks something like this -jhsghjhf4356hh76wer7w7eet67ged
Also,the hash algorithm only works one way, u cannot do reverse engg on it.
In order to get password hash,i have installed pwdump2.Extracted all files.Run "cmd" on computer.When i type pwdump.exe..it says that it doesnot able to recognise internal or external command.What does that mean..Plz reply.Could u tell exact way to get username and password
Which one is better pwdump2 or lcp?? How lcp works.
